Accounts Payable Specialist

Schedule: Flexible! Start between 6AM to 9AM CST

Location: Houston, TX 77033

Pay Rate: $30/hr.-$32/hr. BOE

Duration: Contract to Hire!

Responsibilities:

• Match invoices against what populates in the invoice entry system

• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all fields prior to voucher posting

• Manage recurring invoices (e.g., monthly utility bills) and follow up on missing items

• Set up new vendors and collect necessary documentation (e.g., W9s)

• Handle exceptions in invoice processing, including:

– Outbound freight EDI entries that bounce due to transportation/shipment ID mismatches

– Determine if discrepancies are within acceptable range or require escalation

• Communicate effectively with vendors when irregularities arise

Invoice Processing Workflow:

• Invoices submitted via a designated email auto-populate into the 4U Invoice Screen

• AP Clerks will:

– Validate GL code and company assignment

– Post the voucher if accurate

– Make necessary corrections before posting

Candidate Profile:

• Highly detail-oriented and process-driven

• Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables (both required)

• Understands monthly invoice cycles and can track expected documents

• Strong communication skills—professional, patient, and practical

• Experienced with ERP systems (any ERP experience accepted)

• Adaptable to evolving AP processes and AI-assisted tools
