Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead and optimize the accounts payable function in our Herndon, Virginia office. This long-term contract position involves overseeing a high-volume AP process while managing a small team and ensuring operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Oracle Fusion and a deep understanding of procure-to-pay workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices.
  • Lead and mentor a team of two AP staff members, providing guidance and support to enhance performance.
  • Manage a high-volume invoice environment, processing approximately 500 invoices per month with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Streamline and improve accounts payable workflows, including manual processes, to increase efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all AP activities.
  • Leverage Oracle Fusion to optimize the AP process and resolve system-related challenges.
  • Collaborate with procurement and other departments to enhance the procure-to-pay cycle.
  • Address and resolve discrepancies, vendor inquiries, and payment issues promptly.
  • Generate and analyze reports to provide insights into AP performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement best practices for accounts payable operations.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounts payable management or a related role.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle Fusion and its application in accounts payable workflows.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor a small team effectively.
  • Hands-on experience with procure-to-pay processes and high-volume invoice environments.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and regulatory requirements related to accounts payable.
  • Proficiency in managing manual AP processes and transitioning to more efficient workflows.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or similar highly preferred.
