Job Title: AP Analyst

Location: Houston, TX (onsite only during 1099 processing times, role is hybrid, 90% remote)

Contract Length: through March 2026

Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable System Analyst/AP Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with PeopleSoft, possess advanced Excel skills, and demonstrate a strong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations and 1099 processing. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of our accounts payable systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for PeopleSoft Accounts Payable module.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations related to AP accounts and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Oversee and execute the annual 1099 reporting process, ensuring compliance with IRS regulations.
• Develop and maintain Excel-based reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to support AP operations and audits.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries related to AP and system processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in an accounts payable analyst or system analyst role, preferably in a mid-to-large organization.
• Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft (required).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, and complex formulas.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, AP accounting principles, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience with 1099 processing and compliance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

• Experience with ERP systems or AP automation tools.
• Familiarity with SQL or reporting/query tools in PeopleSoft.
• Prior experience supporting system upgrades or finance transformation projects.
