Job Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Accounting Supervisor to support the Controller in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, including General Ledger (GL) Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Fixed Asset Management. This role is key to ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, month-end close activities, reconciliations, and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Working with the Controller, this position provides leadership and guidance to the accounting team, helps streamline processes, and ensures that the financial backbone of the business operates smoothly and efficiently
Essential Duties:
Operational Oversight & Team Support
* Supervise and support the daily functions of the General Ledger, Cost Accounting, and Fixed Asset accounting teams.
* Act as a liaison between the Controller and the accounting team, helping to translate strategic goals into operational tasks.
* Provide review and oversight of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance - ensuring accurate financial postings.
* Identify accounting posting and transaction issues and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve the issues.
* Support the Controller in developing fallback plans for each critical process.
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
* Coordinate month-end and quarter-end close processes for responsibility areas, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is accurate.
* Lead the consolidation process for PECNA NV to support Panasonic global reporting.
* Prepare and review GL account reconciliations, accruals, and key supporting schedules.
* Assist in the preparation of internal financial reports and variance analyses for management review.
* support internal and external auditors with audit sample requests and audit queries.
Fixed Asset Oversight
* Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
* Support capital-in-progress (CIP) reporting and timely capitalization of assets.
* Ensure fixed asset accounting complies with internal policies and external reporting requirements.
* Ensure compliance with state and country physical property tax reporting regulations.
Cost & Inventory Accounting
* Lead inventory forecasting, costing, production closing, and inventory valuation activities.
* Support the Cost Accounting team in their mandate to support physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory adjustments.
* Help maintain costing standards and analyze variances.
Compliance & Process Improvement
* Ensure compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, JSOX, and Panasonic internal controls.
* Support internal and external audit processes with timely and accurate documentation.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist the Controller in developing and maintaining internal accounting policies and implementing accounting best practices.
* Support the Controller with other accounting / administrative tasks as required.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
* To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications
Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education:
* Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
* Preferred: CPA designation (active or in progress)
Essential Qualifications:
* 4-5 years of progressive experience in full cycle accounting, including general ledger and fixed asset accounting. Cost accounting experience is a distinct advantage.
* Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, procedures, and financial reporting standards (IFRS).
* Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and advanced Excel capabilities.
* Excellent communication skills, with good command of written and verbal English.
* Detail-oriented, highly organized, and proven ability to meet deadlines.
* Dependable under pressure and ability to lead teams and manage critical tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Cost accounting experience in an ERP environment (SAP Strongly preferred).
* Strong time management and people management skills.
* Ability to balance competing priorities and multi-task.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to respond in a timely and courteous manner to internal and external customers.
* Capable of handling confidential information in a responsible manner
* Ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision.
* Ability to work with domestic and international teams.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
* Resilient, self-motived, and able to work well under pressure.
