About the Role


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to assist with day-to-day finance operations. This position will focus on data entry, financial tasks, and report preparation, while also supporting accounts receivable and accounts payable, aid in budget preparation, and assist with tax preparation. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to a fast-paced and collaborative finance team.


The Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the finance department.


Responsibilities:


  • Generate and send invoices to clients, monitor payment status, follow up on outstanding balances, and ensure timely cash collections.
  • Review vendor invoices, verify accuracy, manage payment schedules, and assist with processing payments.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly reconciliation of bank accounts, credit card statements, vendor accounts, and internal ledgers. Identify and help resolve discrepancies.
  • Enter and maintain accurate financial data in accounting systems. Organize receipts, statements, and backup documentation.
  • Assist in preparing summary reports and spreadsheets for internal review, audits, and monthly closings.
  • Work closely with HR, Operations, and other departments to ensure smooth handling of finance-related documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Support the finance team in identifying ways to improve efficiency, such as streamlining payment tracking or documentation workflows.
  • Providing administrative support as assigned by team.

Qualifications:


  • Current student or recent graduate in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial documents.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel) is a plus.
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner.
  • High integrity with a proven ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail and communication.
  • Demonstrated proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
