1LM is a specialist finance/accounting firm located in Canberra, Australia. Our clients range from large Commonwealth Government departments and agencies to private sector and not-for profits. We work with CFOs and their teams on a variety of projects encompassing financial management, budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls and finance business partnering.

Our firm is growing and we are seeking candidates across the spectrum (from graduate through to senior manager levels) to join the team. These are full-time roles for Accountants located in Canberra with a large proportion of work at client locations. People joining our team will have an appetite to learn and grow their skills with plenty of hands-on experience working alongside our senior leadership and are looking to provide outstanding service to our clients.

Role Description

You will use your financial management knowledge and skills to deliver professional services as part of wider 1LM client or project teams. The range of tasks that our team is called upon to complete is wide and includes collection and analysis of financial data, executing accounting tasks/processes and providing advice to business stakeholders. We also work on financial reporting/financial statements, technical accounting and internal controls-focussed engagements. 

In joining 1LM, you will get a comprehensive insight into business management and handle a diverse range of tasks. Qualifications

• Australian citizenship is a requirement of this work as well as currently holding or having the ability to obtain an AGSVA security clearance
• Must possess an undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or related field
• Previous experience in Big 4/mid tier professional services firms or working in Commonwealth agencies is desirable
• Intention to or working towards a higher qualification in accounting such as CA/CPA is highly desirable
• Practical experience commensurate with role:

Graduate levels with <1 year of experience

Senior Accountant levels with 3+ years of experience and studying towards/achieved CA/CPA

Manager and senior manager level roles with CA/CPA and 5-10+ years relevant experience

• Ability to analyse and interpret a range of data
• A team player with strong written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to serve our clients with distinction
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple demands effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Recent university graduates or those in their final year are encouraged to apply for a graduate-level position.
