Manager, Accounting- This position can be based in either our San Diego or Minnetonka locations.

How you will make an impact
- The Manager, Accounting handles accounting for partner invoicing, fixed assets, cash and investments, R&D, SG&A, and manufacturing contracts outsourced, prepaids, royalties, and leases. They ensure the appropriate accounting treatment is applied, reconciling balance sheet accounts, reviewing journal entries, and assisting with the month-end and quarter-end close.
- In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Train, develop and mentor direct reports in the performance of tasks under areas of responsibility
- Review new vendor set up in accounting software and AP platforms, monthly bank reconciliations, square footage apportionment and monthly allocation entries
- Assist with month-end and quarter end close processes and in preparation of schedules as the need arises for quarterly reviews, annual audit and tax returns
- Account for R&D, SG&A and manufacturing contracts outsourced including interacting with project managers and vendors for monthly expense accruals
- Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations; fixed asset transactions each month, including additions, disposals, depreciation entries and construction in progress; and lease amortization tables and approve lease entries
- Treasury management; review cash and investment entries
- Track and review deferred revenue entries and reconciliation
- Function as system administrator for Blackline (account reconciliation software)
- Support the SOX 404 compliance process, including the updating of narratives for prepaid expenses and fixed assets on an annual basis, and effectively collaborate with SOX consultants and auditors.
- Prepare reports and special projects as assigned
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field with minimum 8 years of general ledger and accounting experience required (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)
- 3+ years of management experience preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting and compliance.
- CPA license and “big four” public accounting experience preferred
- Public company and SOX-compliant with previous exposure to multinational companies preferred
- Experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology or related industry in a financial capacity highly preferred
- Software Knowledge: Great Plains, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

The most likely base pay range for this position is $105k - $147k per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual’s exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
