Summary

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Construction Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting functions for construction projects and ensure financial compliance within the company. This role will be responsible for managing the financial activities associated with construction operations, including job costing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, financial reporting, and budget management. The ideal candidate will bring a thorough understanding of construction accounting processes and a proactive approach to streamlining workflows.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management and Reporting:

  • Oversee financial reporting processes for construction projects, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Prepare, analyze, and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual project P&Ls and balance sheets
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), budgets, and forecasts to track project profitability and growth.


Project Job Costing:

  • Manage and track project costs, budgets, and revenue schedules using construction-specific ERP software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Timberline).
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure proper job costing allocations and adherence to financial controls.


Compliance and Audit:

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, tax implications, and construction-specific requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring accurate documentation and records throughout projects.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;


Experience:

  • 5+ years of construction accounting experience, including job costing and financial reporting.
