Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key member of the Accounting team working to support General Ledger responsibilities
  • Liaise with the Asset Management team to translate operating activity into financial results
  • Lead the month-end close process by reviewing balance sheet accounts, recording necessary journal entries, and preparing account reconciliations including accompanying supporting schedules. Review reconciliation work of senior accountants
  • Review P&L activity for accuracy month over month and year-to-date for various subsidiaries. Work with senior accountants to research and resolve any discrepancies to budget or period over period results
  • Monitor cash movement, review cash reconciliations, AP & AR reconciliations, loan reconciliations. Ensure proper GAAP accounting for leases, asset retirement obligations, assets in development and assets in service
  • Analysis, reconciliation, and settlement of intercompany transactions
  • Compile and review accounting reporting packages to lenders, regulators, and other Company stakeholders for standalone projects or for various consolidation groups within the organization
  • Prepare annual audit schedules, support, and interface with auditors and tax teams for third party services
  • Assist with various corporate and partnership tax filing requirements
  • Manage filings of real and personal property tax as well as sales & use tax by jurisdiction, where required
  • Collaboratively work with various business units to gather information and build a strong understanding of contractual obligations for various portfolios
  • Assist with documentation and reporting requirements activities that occur as the business grows
  • Complete special projects, ad-hoc reporting, analysis requests, and all other tasks as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent
  • 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience, experience related to the energy business is a plus
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and the ability to research to find solutions for accounting issues, CPA is a plus
  • Proficient with consolidations, eliminations, and intercompany transactions
  • Familiarity with guidance covering revenue recognition, leases, debt & debt issuance costs, fixed assets, retirement obligations, and noncontrolling interest
  • Experience with drafting GAAP financial statements including related footnote disclosures
  • Payroll, 1099 reporting, and automated bill pay solutions (i.e. Bill.com) experience a plus
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively
  • Strong ability to prioritize, organize work, and operate independently with deadlines
  • Attention to detail with an ability to simultaneously research discrepancies, solve problems
