POSITION SUMMARY
The company is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead core financial operations, reporting, and business analysis. This role offers direct exposure to the CEO, outsourced CFO, and investor group within a fast-scaling business backed by a private equity firm and poised for growth through new locations and acquisitions. You’ll play a critical role in building foundational financial processes, driving insights from data, and shaping the company’s financial infrastructure as it grows. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations
- Lead weekly cash flow forecasting and maintain accurate tracking of cash position
- Own key components of the monthly close process, including preparation of P&L statements, general ledger entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare financial reports and dashboards summarizing performance, trends, and variances
- Track key metrics such as patient revenue, service utilization, and cost efficiency to support decision-making
Accounts Payable, Receivable & Expense Management
- Manage the accounts payable process, including vendor coordination, invoice coding, and payment disbursement
- Oversee accounts receivable tracking and reconciliation, including support for revenue recognition
- Monitor company expenses and ensure proper classification, documentation, and approval workflows
Controls, Compliance & Process Improvement
- Maintain strong internal controls by implementing and supporting accounting policies and procedures
- Assist in documenting and continuously improving financial processes and systems
- Coordinate with external partners (e.g., outsourced CFO, tax/legal advisors) on year-end close and audit preparation
Strategic & Operational Support
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team on financial planning, budgeting, and business optimization initiatives
- Support inventory and purchasing processes to ensure accuracy in COGS and related accounting entries
- Contribute to ad hoc projects that improve financial visibility and operational efficiency
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
- 2–4 years of experience in public accounting, consulting, or a structured finance/accounting role; small business or early-stage company experience a plus
- Proven ability to build and streamline accounting processes in a dynamic environment
- Strong interpersonal skills; thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, all-female team
- Must be based in Orange County or able to work in-office in Newport Beach five days a week
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and QuickBooks
- CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices
- Highly detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and data entry capabilities
