Title: Accounting Manager
Salary: $150,000 - $200,000/annually

Location: New York City (Remote)

About the role: We're partnering with a fast-growing start-up who builds AI software. Looking for an Accounting Manager who enjoys working across systems and teams, and is excited to take full ownership of the accounting operations. This role is central to ensuring the integrity of financial data, supporting strategic initiatives, and maintaining compliance across the board. If you have a CPA, background in public accounting, and industry exposure (technology, SaaS, AI, etc.), we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Take full responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including revenue recognition, cost tracking, operating expenses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Collaborate with external partners-accountants, auditors, tax consultants-to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
• Oversee and optimize financial tools and platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Ramp, Gusto, etc.).
• Navigate and manage complex financial matters such as equity compensation, intercompany pricing, and shareholder financing.
• Lead the month-end close process and contribute to both internal and external financial reporting.
• Ensure all statutory and regulatory obligations are met.
• Conduct recurring financial reviews, including variance analysis and account reconciliations.
• Handle day-to-day financial operations like vendor payments, payroll disbursements, and cash flow oversight.
• Provide analytical support for planning, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
  

Requirements:

• CPA certification and a background in audit, with a strong command of U.S. GAAP.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite and a high level of proficiency in using it.

• 5-10 years in accounting or audit roles, ideally with exposure to both.
• Proven ability to build strong working relationships with external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to accuracy.
• Self-driven and resourceful, with a knack for solving problems creatively.
• Excellent communicator who can break down complex financial topics for a broader audience.
• Collaborative mindset, enjoy working independently but also value team input.
• Passionate about finance and eager to deepen your expertise.
• Experience in tech, infrastructure, or software industries is a plus.
