As they continue to scale their finance function, they are seeking a Head of Accounting to lead statutory reporting, accounting operations, and audit coordination. This is a high-visibility role with exposure to global stakeholders and the opportunity to influence financial processes across the group.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Statutory Reporting & Accounting Leadership

• Lead the preparation of annual financial statements for multiple entities in accordance with local GAAP
• Oversee the creation of notes, management commentary, and supplementary documentation
• Coordinate closely with internal teams (Legal, Management, Shared Service Centers) and external auditors
• Provide guidance to accounting teams on local regulatory and tax-related issues

✅ Group Reporting & Financial Governance

• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end group reporting packages under US GAAP
• Advise on complex accounting issues, including contract and transaction assessments
• Ensure compliance with group-wide financial reporting policies and controls
• Represent the finance department in cross-functional and international projects

✅ ERP and Process Development

• Contribute to the evolution of finance systems (SAP) and tools supporting financial close and reporting
• Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives related to automation and control frameworks

Your Profile

🔹 Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; professional certifications (e.g., Bilanzbuchhalter) are a strong advantage

🔹 4+ years of experience in financial statement preparation and statutory accounting, ideally within a multinational environment

🔹 Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB); working knowledge of tax law and US GAAP is a plus

🔹 Proven ability to interpret complex financial and regulatory issues and communicate them clearly

🔹 Highly organized, independent, and capable of managing deadlines under pressure

🔹 Proficient with MS Excel; experience with SAP is beneficial
