Summary

Job Title: Senior General Ledger (GL) Accounting Manager


Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior General Ledger (GL) Accounting Manager to lead our GL team and ensure the integrity of financial reporting and compliance with internal and external requirements. This role is pivotal in overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, maintaining a strong internal control environment, and providing critical support for audits and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the General Ledger team and ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Lead the preparation and review of financial statements, variance analysis, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Operations to ensure alignment and accuracy of financial data.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and safeguard company assets.
  • Manage and mentor a team of GL accountants, providing coaching, performance evaluations, and career development support.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation during audits (internal and external).
  • Lead or contribute to ERP system improvements, automation initiatives, and accounting system implementations.
  • Support ad hoc projects such as acquisitions, system integrations, or new product rollouts from an accounting perspective.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience in a publicly traded company and SOX compliance is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) is required.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proven leadership ability and strong communication skills (written and verbal).
