The Accounting Manager is hands-on and is responsible for creating and supporting accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Including, but not limited to, ensuring day to day, month end, and year-end financial transactions and accounts are recorded properly and reconciled. Engage in AP, AR, banking, cash flow, annual review, taxes, process improvement & documentation, other accounting/finance tasks and projects as they arise.
Job Duties:
Manage and prioritize the accounting teams daily tasks based on goals, objectives, and deadlines
Validate all invoices and credit transactions are recorded accurately
Review and process customer invoices/accounts receivable, submit to customer email or portal, and update associated worksheets
Coordinate and administer the collection process for past due accounts
Calculate sales commissions, process payments for credit cards and employee expense reports
Process bank transactions, deposits and general ledger entries
Troubleshoot customer inquiries, discrepancies and/or problems as they arise
Maintain customer and vendor databases, relations, and ensure all required tax documents are up to date
Ensure accuracy and maintain documentation for each machine sold, from order to cash
Collaborate with Parent Company on any outstanding AR/AP issues, questions, requests, etc
Review, validate, and submit 1099's via on-line app
Calculate and submit annual sales & use tax filings and payments
Submit annual business filing with MN Secretary of State
Collaborate with accounting firm on the annual review process, tax returns and to ensure accurate/up to date state rules are followed
Collaborate with Controller on cash flow, projects, issues, process improvements, expense reductions, etc
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting rules and regulations
Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance, solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting, or similar experience
Minimum 3-5 years hands on experience in accounting or finance, prior manufacturing experience a plus
Detail oriented, have strong math skills and be efficient
Strong organizational, leadership, prioritization, communications and analytical skills
Reliable and trustworthy with company financial data
Hands-on experience in financial and ERP software, NetSuite experience a plus
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with a minimum of intermediate Excel skills required
