Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager with specialized experience in government contracts accounting to join our finance team. This role will be responsible for managing the accounting operations related to government contracts, ensuring compliance with FAR, DFARS, and other applicable regulations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of public and private accounting experience, leadership capabilities, and a solid understanding of accounting systems, particularly Oracle Fusion.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all accounting functions related to government contracts, including revenue recognition, billing, indirect rate calculations, and cost allocations.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other government compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with Contracts, Program Management, and FP&A teams to support audits, reporting, and cost proposals.
  • Prepare, review, and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial reports related to government projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of incurred cost submissions (ICS) and support DCAA and other government audits.
  • Drive process improvements and ensure accounting processes are efficient and compliant.
  • Lead and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Collaborate with IT and Finance to maintain and optimize accounting system functionality, particularly around Oracle Fusion.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a strong background in government contract accounting.
  • A blend of public accounting (preferably with a top-tier firm) and private industry experience in a government contractor environment.
  • Deep understanding of FAR, DFARS, and cost accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with Oracle Fusion is a strong plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional collaboration.
