Job Details

We are seeking a hands-on General Ledger (GL) Manager to join our growing Finance team. This role will lead the GL function and oversee the timely and accurate completion of monthly and annual financial close processes. You will be responsible for directing key accounting activities, including audits, internal controls, AP, cash receipts, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and tax compliance. Reporting directly to senior finance leadership, this role offers a unique opportunity to build and scale processes within a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing GL team while fostering a data-driven, transparent, and process-oriented culture
  • Establish and maintain robust internal financial controls to ensure compliance and accuracy in reporting
  • Ensure transaction integrity and full compliance with GAAP, FAR, and other relevant regulations
  • Support the preparation of annual indirect rate budgets and financial forecasts
  • Manage general ledger and balance sheet activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Oversee external audits and agency reviews (DCAA, IRS, CPA firms, etc.), including Incurred Cost Submissions
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax filings at the federal, state, and local levels
  • Lead and perform all aspects of the monthly close process, including journal entry review, account reconciliation, financial analysis, and revenue recognition
  • Maintain and reconcile cost pools to ensure proper allocation
  • Collaborate with AP, AR, Payroll, and Project Controls to align financial operations
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned



Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 6–10 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance roles within the government contracting industry
  • Deep understanding of cost pool allocations and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and government contracting compliance (FAR)
  • Proven leadership and team development skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong sense of integrity, accountability, and results orientation


Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CMA certification
  • Experience with Lawson and/or Oracle Fusion ERP systems
