A great UHY client is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Sage or Intacct, Healthcare experience, public accounting experience, and PE experience.
The Accounting Manager role is a remote role. This is a client direct hire position.
Accounting Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage daily and monthly accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Lead and participate in the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Support ongoing improvements in revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and other critical accounting areas.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, legal, and senior leadership to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal standards across all accounting functions.
- Contribute to the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting team members, providing guidance and fostering professional growth.
- Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Take ownership of key accounting areas and communicate potential risks or issues proactively to leadership.
Accounting Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA license strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience in healthcare, consumer services, or other multi-location businesses preferred.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
- Experience mentoring or managing team members is a plus.
