Who you are:

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and procedure-driven Accounting Professional to join our dynamic team at an alternative lending firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both standard and complex accounting practices, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting while maintaining compliance with internal controls. This role also involves managing and mentoring two junior accountants, ensuring high standards of performance and efficiency

What you bring to the table:

• Bachelor’s degree in science, accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the financial services or alternative lending industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
• Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership over their work, taking full responsibility for outcomes and proactively driving tasks to completion.
• Ability to handle complex and ad hoc accounting challenges with confidence and accuracy.
• Highly organized with a strong ability to develop and follow structured procedures.
• Proven experience managing and mentoring junior accountants.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High drive to ensure error-free financial management.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

What you will do:

• Maintain and oversee financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
• Perform and oversee complex accounting tasks, including reconciliations, revenue recognition, and financial analysis.
• Develop and implement accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and minimize errors.
• Manage, train, and mentor two junior accountants, ensuring their work meets high standards of accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure financial alignment with business strategies.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and forecasts for senior management.
• Handle ad hoc financial and accounting projects, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
• Ensure a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all accounting activities.
• Maintain an organized approach to workflow, ensuring deadlines are met and financial records are well-documented.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce the risk of errors.
