Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Wilton Manors, Florida. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates eager to develop their skills in accounting and administrative support. As part of a non-profit organization, the ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism and respect for the organization's values while assisting with essential financial and clerical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Process and verify purchase orders and invoices, ensuring all entries are accurate and comply with organizational policies.
- Assist with data entry tasks, including entering vendor invoices and reconciling accounts.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including receiving, sorting, and mailing checks.
- Support the preparation and distribution of checks twice a week, ensuring timely payments.
- Perform filing and record-keeping duties to maintain organized documentation.
- Make routine calls to vendors and other stakeholders to resolve payment issues or gather information.
- Conduct three-way matching for purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents.
- Generate reports and assist in tracking aged encumbrances and outstanding checks.
- Provide backup support to the Finance Clerk and assist with other administrative duties as needed.
- Collaborate with the accounts payable team to research vendor statements and follow up on payments.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; entry-level candidates encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Willingness to learn fund accounting software and other systems used by the organization.
- Ability to handle Level 2 background checks as required.
- Comfortable working in an environment that aligns with the values of a Catholic entity.
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
