BILLING & COLLECTIONS CLERK

We are currently looking for a Billing & Collections Clerk to join our Accounting team.

Our ideal candidate will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of client billings and collection of accounts receivable. In addition to billing and collection responsibilities, this clerk will assist and provide back up to other areas in the Accounting Department.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist legal assistants with drafting accounts and finalizing same;
  • Record firm receipts and report daily deposits;
  • Update client collections reports;
  • Attend monthly meetings with partners to review accounts receivables;
  • Regularly follow-up with clients on overdue accounts; and
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications Required:

  • Successful completion of a University or College Accounting program;
  • A minimum of 1 year experience working in professional services is preferred;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and Outlook);
  • Experience working with legal accounting software and a document management system, e.g., iManage, is an asset;
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills in order to manage multiple priorities in order to meet tight deadlines;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to help build relationships and provide excellent client service;
  • Confident self-starter, who can work well both independently and in a team environment;
  • Operate with a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail;
  • Show good judgment and respond well to constructive feedback.
