Purpose
Responsible for advanced program administration and coordination of an academic or educational program or programs. Responsible for all phases of program activities, including development, implementation, and assessment of an academic program or programs. Markets activities involved in assigned academic programs or projects. Develops and implements standards for attainment of program goals and objectives. Maintains frequent interaction with University departments, special groups and external agencies in administering the program. Recommends new policies and procedures for improvement of program activities. Coordinates staff training and development related to the academic program. Conducts marketing assessment for assigned area. Oversees financial management of all program activities. Determines work priorities. May hire, train supervise a team of direct reports or act as an individual contributor. Performs related duties as assigned. May work on special projects as assigned. May attend professional development seminars.
Responsibilities
* PROGRAM COORDINATOR: Implementation and development of the Dedman Distinguished Scholarship Program. Oversee daily operations and activities, exercising independent judgment and authority. Submit special reports to administration and external offices illustrating accountability and progress toward outlined program goals. Assist DDSP Director with the review and selection of applicants to the DDSP. Assist in the development and support of the various initiatives within the Liberal Arts Honors Office.
* INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT: Provide instructional support for Liberal Arts Honors courses, including serving as instructor of record and developing strategies to connect faculty and curriculum with the Honors Program. Meet with enrolled students as needed for guidance in classes.
* EVENTS AND TRAVEL COORDINATION: Coordinate logistics for the DDSP Finalist weekend. Including set-up, program promotion, weekend logistics, and content. Coordinate activities, events, field trips, dinners etc., throughout the year for the DDSP. Plan program content and design agendas for each ceremony, meeting, retreat, and trip. Lead weekly meetings with all DDSP scholars. Lead planning of the DDSP weekly workshops.
* COMMUNICATION: Serve as faculty mentor to a DDSP cohort. Help set academic, career and life goals and develop strategies to achieve them. Collaborate with administrators and use campus entities to achieve program objectives. Organize, design, and maintain the program's printed and digital materials, including photos and logos. Update and maintain the DDSP website. Develop and maintain communication with current Scholars and alumni with the use of social media - Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram. Supervise DDSP student workers engaged in these communication activities.
* ALUMNI RELATIONS: Serve as DDSP alumni liaison. Supervise maintenance of DDSP alumni database. Track and expand alumni network. Plan and attend alumni events for local Austin alumni. Coordinate all alumni involvement in recruitment weekend and sophomore cohort selection process. Stay in touch with alumni via social media and email and in person as needed.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in field related to the work to be performed. Five years' experience in a supervisory role and coordinating or administering a program. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, knowledge of university policies and procedures; evidence of effective communication skills, strong attention to detail; demonstrated ability to prioritize and track tasks; ability to write status reports and create planning documents.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. and instructional experience. Demonstrated experience working with liberal arts majors in higher education career services or other academic setting. Experience teaching and developing coursework. Professional experience at The University of Texas at Austin. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders, including faculty, students, and external partners.
Salary Range
$73,000 + depending on qualifications
