What You Will Be Doing
The
Academic Records Manager serves as a department leader and manages the day-to-day Registrar procedures to meet and exceed team goals, and to advance the SDI mission of contributing to student success and satisfaction. The
Academic Records Manager optimizes the daily operations within the Office of the Registrar, ensuring that staffing, training, and procedures meet company and regulatory standards. The
Academic Records Manager assures that our Academic Records Specialists and third party support staff are appropriately following SDI policies and procedures intended to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and support students from enrollment through graduation with processes, including all aspects of student record management and processing.
- Provide direct coaching and supervision to Academic Records Specialists, fostering a positive, student-centered experience while driving team performance to meet departmental goals, service level agreements, and ensuring the accuracy of student data in the student information system
- Assist in hiring, training, and staff development to promote retention, accountability, and the attainment of individual and company goals, while ensuring team members' professional development goals are met and fostering growth and opportunity within SDI.
- Ensure compliance by establishing job requirements and SDI policies, taking appropriate action as necessary.
- Monitor systems used by the Office of the Registrar (e.g., Ring Central, JST ordering, Parchment, Anthology Student, Google Chat, email, etc.) and leverage reports to manage team performance, address coverage needs and enhance efficiency
- Develop and manage changes to reports and other tools used to monitor quality control of all processes within the Office of the Registrar
- Develop processes and standard operating procedures, providing training to ensure team understanding and retention of important details, and consistent processing with a high level of accuracy
- Establish cross checks to identify any processing gaps or inaccuracies for immediate correction
- Anticipates workload and re-assigns tasks as necessary to ensure optimal team performance and efficiency, to meet critical deadlines including routine department duties and projects
- Regularly engage with each team member to offer coaching, mentoring, and support, and ensure employees have opportunities to share ideas
- Represent the Office of the Registrar in company meetings, providing necessary updates to the team and ensuring transparency around SDI goals and their impact on team performance
- Manage high level processes such as Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), SAP Appeals, internal quality control reviews
- Contribute to team goals by maintaining knowledge of and supporting all processes managed by the Office of the Registrar and providing back up processing support to team members, when necessary
- Communicate regularly with the Registrar regarding issues affecting team performance, compliance standards, and student satisfaction
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize the student experience and efficiency in processes throughout the student lifecycle

What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Three or more years management experience
- Five or more years of experience in Registrar, or related higher education positions, with demonstrated career progression
- Experience with Student Information Systems; Anthology Student (formerly CampusVue or Nexus), strongly preferred
- Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and lead a team towards successful outcomes
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and excellent interpersonal abilities
- High emotional intelligence, with a focus on enhancing team performance and individual accountability
- Supportive and compassionate mentoring and coaching experience
- Capable of strong leadership, staff training, and development
- Proficient in computer skills, with ability to learn quickly
- Effective multitasking skills, with the capacity to meet goals in a fast-paced environment
- Organized self-starter with a compliance orientation, able to identify and address deficiencies to maintain high standards
- Previous experience in a highly regulated environment, ensuring compliance with government and other regulatory standards
- Customer-centric approach, with strong relationship management skills for both internal and external stakeholders
