Position Summary The 3D Animation & Game Design (ANGD) Program in the School of Media and Design invites part-time faculty candidates for 3D Animation & Game Design-Tech Art Lecturer to teach online graduate courses. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW mission. The official duties and responsibilities of part-time faculty members at the university include teaching and professional activities as assigned. Benefits This position is not benefits eligible. Essential Functions Basic Instructional Duties: Prepare course outlines based on approved departmental syllabi. Deliver synchronous online instruction to Master of Game Design (MGD) students via Microsoft Teams. Prepare and administer timely and meaningful assessments for assigned courses. Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure standard curriculum outcomes are met. Be available outside of class to help students learn and to answer their questions (1 hour per 3-hour class, physically and/or electronically.) Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook policies and procedures, including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course. Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom. Maintain contact with the department chair and participate in meetings upon request. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge Skills and Abilities Ability to work with the Director of the Master of Game Development (MGD) program to develop and deliver instruction on industry-standard skills in the field of technical art; Knowledge of game development industry norms and pipelines; Must be knowledgeable and experienced in at least one industry-standard engine (preferably Unity or Unreal); Ability to effectively learn and use instructional technology; Willingness and flexibility to teach day, evening and weekend sections, as needed; Ability to incorporate technology into teaching; Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures; Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA. Required Education Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline. Note that education of less than Bachelor’s Degree with at least five (5) additional years of significant experience in the field of tech art will be considered. Required Work Experience Significant experience in the game development industry in the field of tech art. Preferred Qualifications Teaching experience at the college or university level. Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations N/A. Work Hours Based on course assignment. Physical Demands Typical for faculty in this discipline.
