SUMMARY Assists workers engaged in the fabrication of forged products by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All functions, duties, or tasks are to be carried out in an honest, ethical and professional manner, and to be performed in conformance with applicable Company policies and procedures. In the event of uncertainty or lack of knowledge of Company policies and procedures, employees are required to request clarification or explanations from superiors or authorized company representatives. Knows the roles and relationships of each member of the press or hammer crew where they are and their responsibilities during the operation of the press or hammer. Basic ability to read and understand shop travelers, operating procedures, daily production reports, and other work instructions. Sweeps die, operates all furnace controls (door, hearth, and car), cleans and lubricates dies, functions as scale blower, and operates tools required to set dies and trimmers. After a predefined training period is completed, has gained a basic knowledge of materials and forging practices; and the safe operation of floor manipulators. Sets up and uses impression stamps. Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Performs other routine duties. Required experience: High school or Technical College degree Experience in the forge industry a plus Remarks: Considerable care must be exercised when performing duties in order to avoid downtime or non-production time Will be working indoors near operating furnaces and constantly exposed to dirt, noise and the extreme heat of hot furnaces
