Summary

Wright Plastic Products currently has an opening for a 2nd Shift Coordinator/Process Technician at our Madisonville, TN location.

Summary of Position Responsibilities:

Responsible to assure effective day to day technical and production operations of the shift. Direct and assist with mold changes and set up. Elimination of scrap and downtime. Training of technical and production staff. Coordinates Equipment / Tooling damage and improvement plans to Maintenance and Tool Room Coordinators. Initiate work orders through the COGS System. Drives continuous improvement activities on shift and throughout the organization. Assists in ensuring adherence to company policy and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reduce scrap.
  • Improve cycle time and machine efficiencies.
  • Molding Corrective actions and 8 Ds related to customer complaints.
  • Parameter Checks.
  • Cycle sheet updates.
  • Oversee and Coordinate mold changes and set up.
  • Responsible to oversee mold cleaning before mold changes.
  • Equipment and tooling damage reporting and repair utilizing COGS System.
  • Technical and production staff performance evaluations, issues, and development. Responsible for individual staff performance levels.
  • Assure effective utilization of technical and production labor.
  • Coordinate scheduled PTO time and act when unscheduled absences occur within the technical and production groups.
  • Coordinates initial and continuous training of shift technical and production staff.
  • Actively participates in the launch of new products and processes. Gain full knowledge of new launches, coordinating with assigned quality leaders and champions. Complete handoff to oncoming Coordinator and quality leaders.
  • Prepare run down for oncoming shift (shift hand off).
  • Housekeeping and organization of facility.
  • Provides suggestions for continuous improvement opportunities, changes that could improve or increase process efficiency, labor usage,
  • Other duties as assigned, i.e. assists on floor when and where needed and during breaks.


Minimum Qualifications:

Must have 2-4 years plastic process technical experience

High School diploma or equivalent

Complete training in material handling and operator functions

Good working knowledge of automated equipment

Good working knowledge of material handling responsibilities

1-2 years of quality control experience or complete quality leader training

Proven leadership ability – flexible/lead/do/motivate/own

Ability to problem solve – get to the root cause

High level of interpersonal skills with strong emphasis on communication across all levels
