Community School for Creative Education
The Speech-Language Pathologist serves as resource for the implementation of the Special Education program for Community School for Creative Education a Waldorf Inspired Charter. Upholds the mission and values established by Community School for Creative Education. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide direct, individual or small group instruction to identified pupils on a regularly scheduled basis as required in the IEP.
* Collaborate with other personnel working with Special Education students.
* Participate in developing and implementing Individual Educational Plans for students who qualify for Designated Instructional Services (DIS).
* Implement and monitor IEP of students who qualify for Designated Instructional Services (DIS).
* Screen, assess, and provide specialized speech and language services to students who qualify for services as established by State standards.
* Consult with school and home office staff.
* Develop instructional materials and strategies for Special Education students in the mainstream classroom.
* Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Community School for Creative Education mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
* Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
* Case Management of Speech only special education students.
Requirements Required knowledge, skills & abilities:
* Strong communication and community-building skills
* Proficiency with SEIS, MS Office, and Google Docs
* Bilingual/Bi-literate—English/Spanish and or Cantonese preferred
* Experience in performance assessment
* Strong problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and -Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; flexible, able to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed
2) Minimum educational level:
Bachelor's Degree; Master’s Degree preferred
Valid California Speech-Language Pathology School Services credential or California Clinical or Rehabilitative Services credential with an authorization in Language, Speech and Hearing
3) Experience required:
2+ years as a Speech and Language Therapist
