The Distribution Center Order Picker is responsible for accurately and efficiently picking and preparing orders for shipment within the Distribution Center. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy and quality in all picking operations. The Picker is an important contributor maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring timely order fulfillment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Order Picking & Pallet Assembly: Pull product using pick lists assigned to ship orders and assemble and wrap pallets with the requested product.
Product Handling & Inspection: Repack damaged product in new boxes and palletize. Verify product quality and report any discrepancies.
Inventory Accuracy & Location: Maintain accurate inventory counts, move product from-to required locations physically and systematically, and provide updated locations to Admins.
Documentation & Reporting: Accurately complete all required documentation, including BOLs, packing slips, and inventory records.
Quality Control: Inspect picked items for damage or defects and ensure they meet quality standards before packing or staging for shipment.
Packing & Staging: Pack picked items securely and efficiently for shipment, following established packing procedures. Stage completed orders in designated areas for loading.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents. Identify and report all safety hazards.
Warehouse Maintenance: Clean warehouse areas as assigned and deposit trash from assigned areas in the dumpster.
Trailer Inspection: When needed do trailer verification procedures .
Vendor Receiving Verification: Verify product received matches product listed and is in good quality condition.
Inventory Counts: Participate in physical inventory counts.
Operational Meetings: Participate in daily pre-shift meetings and contribute to team discussions.
Policy Adherence: Follow all company policies, procedures, and SOPs related to picking operations.
Shift Flexibility: When required, a flexible schedule and shift (day or night) needs to be covered, including weekends. Availability to be scheduled for assigned shifts if operation goes up to 24/7.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management to support warehouse operations.
