The AI-Book Company is looking for a freelance Full Stack Developer (React + Python) to help bring something new to life: AI-powered books you can chat with via WhatsApp.

This is a cold project — early-stage, experimental, and super hands-on. You'll be one of the first people shaping it. The AI-Book Company produces AI-books: not books written by AI, but published and IP protected books (such as Nexus by Yuval Noah Harari) enriched with AI, so you can actually chat with a book.

The AI-Book Company is based in Amsterdam and co-founded by Typetone (AI workforce developers) and Maven Publishing (a Dutch publisher of bestselling nonfiction). You'll be working directly with the founders in a small, fast-moving team.

🔧 What you'll be working on

•         Building a simple but powerful app where users interact with books over WhatsApp

•         Connecting a React frontend to a Python backend and an AI engine

•         Working with WhatsApp API integrations

•         Making sure everything runs smoothly, securely, and at scale

✅ What we're looking for

•         Solid experience with React & Python

•         Skilled in building and scaling APIs

•         Familiarity with WhatsApp API (or willing to learn fast)

•         Independent, fast, and hands-on

•         A solid understanding of security best practices (user data will be sensitive)

•         You love working independently, move fast and enjoy figuring things out

•         Available for hybrid work (partly remote, partly at our Amsterdam office)

•         Bonus: You love books (not required, but definitely appreciated)
