The Assistant Controller fills a critical role in all financial aspects of the Company by accounting for and coordinating the Companyâs financial reporting and planning. The individual in this role is responsible for the accounting and compliance functions of the business. This includes timely and accurate financial, compliance and management reports. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills with the ability to compile and analyze financial results, create detailed financial reports, financial budgets and forecasts, and manage financial risk.Â
The Assistant Controller interfaces with the owner and management teams, outside CPA firm, legal counsel, banks and other consultants of the Company.Â
Operational responsibilities include communicating and training personnel in financial and business functions of company; maintaining regulatory permits and insurance required for both the retail food operations and also the food manufacturing plant; working closely with the CEO in addressing financial and business needs; cost/benefit analyses for capital expenditures; cash management; oversight of accounts payable and receivables, preparation of monthly and annual financial statements according to GAAP.Â
RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
- Develop strategic plan and identify financial opportunitiesÂ
- Establish financial and cash flow forecasts/budgets, and measure resultsÂ
- Analysis and reporting of the companyâs financial performance and risksÂ
- Recruit accounting department personnelÂ
- Set targets for and supervise all accounting personnel  Â
- Perform internal audits and adherence to internal controlsÂ
- Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a monthly and annual basisÂ
- Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelinesÂ
- Oversee daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivableÂ
- Reconcile monthly general ledger, bank reconciliationsÂ
- Perform month-end and year-end closingÂ
- Organize financial data into useable information and maintain updated recordsÂ
- Establish/update accounting policies and proceduresÂ
- Support the development and implementation of ERP initiatives and systems Â
- Monitor adherence to internal policies and legal standardsÂ
JOB REQUIREMENTSÂ
- Must have industry experience in food/beverage manufacturing, minimum 3 yearsÂ
- Proven experience in described dutiesÂ
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practicesÂ
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecastingÂ
- An analytical mind with a strategic abilityÂ
- Excellent organizational and leadership skillsÂ
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilitiesÂ
- BS/BA or equivalent in accounting, finance or relevant fieldÂ
- Problem-solving and decision-making aptitudeÂ
- Strong ethics, reliability and confidentialityÂ
- Must have excellent computer skills - MS Excel, Quickbooks or similar, manufacturing ERP systemÂ

Expected hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday or equivalent; hybrid possible for the right candidate.
