Work will focus on an understanding of how to efficiently alter raw materials into desired products while minimizing health and safety, and costrisks.In summary, as the Chemical Process Engineer, you will:<ul><li>Deploy new processes and systems for chemical manufacturing from utilizing engineering principles to overseeing process implementation.</li><li>Lead technical development efforts at the site level from evaluating data to generating training materials and work procedures.</li><li>Execute projects for manufacturing processes and systems utilizing effective project management techniques and coordinating activities with internal and external resources.</li><li>Maintain technical documentation for process systems and evaluations (i.e.; generating and updating drawings, calculations, and design specifications).</li><li>Monitor and maximize process capabilities (quality, cycle times, costs, etc.) for existing products and processes.</li><li>Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. The Process Development Technology &amp; Innovation Engineer provides technical support to develop innovative process technologies at the manufacturing sites to support safety, quality, production, and cost targets. They are responsible for understanding the process technology and managing multiple projects to drive INEOS performance goals. The position is located at the Ashtabula Complex with occasional travel. This is a safety critical role.
Key activities include:
<ul>
<li>Adhere to INEOS Pigments’ 20 principles of process and Behavioral Safety and Life Saving Rules</li>
<li>Lead and support multiple projects to improve performance at the Ashtabula Complex by conducting lab, pilot, and plant scale trials.</li>
<li>Develop, evaluate, calculate and design plant equipment and process changes to achieve safety, environmental, production, reliability, quality and cost goals.</li>
<li>Develop and present project justification.</li>
<li>Apply a basic understanding of maintenance practices to assist in troubleshooting and improve equipment performance and reliability with some support.</li>
<li>Perform complex calculations and apply standards correctly and independently.</li>
<li>Use industry and company standards to design and engineer effectively.</li>
<li>Assist INEOS colleagues with plant support and trial development including leading trials.</li>
<li>Review vendor documents for specifications and datasheet requirements.</li>
<li>Ensure functionality and data integrity with ability to apply statistical methods by following Six Sigma Black Belt principles.</li>
<li>Effectively communicate and prepare presentations on new technologies based on technical reports for projects.</li>
<li>Understand safety and environmental goals and objectives for the plant and department.</li>
<li>Champion and promote a strong safety culture that ensures adherence to the INEOS Pigments Safety and Behavioural Principles and Life Saving Rules.</li>
<li>Lead or participate in cross-functional project teams.</li>
<li>Participate in HAZOP &amp; PHA reviews.</li>
<li>Develop Process Data Sheets and Specifications.</li>
<li>Work with various functional teams, including Safety, Maintenance, Reliability, Project Engineering, Process Controls Process Safety and T&amp;I.</li>

About You:
You should possess:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; chemical engineering preferred</li>
<li>A minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years of demonstrated engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with preference in process development activities</li>
<li>Previous experience executing projects involving multi-disciplinary teams at multiple plant sites</li>
<li>Critical analytical skills and be adept at utilizing solid decision –making tools coupled with a high level of data analysis skills</li>
<li>Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, Excel, Minitab</li>
<li>Excellent oral and written communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to work a 12-hour shift schedule and lift 50 lbs. primarily during trial and lab work</li>
<li>Ability to lead larger process design scope development, evaluation, and design of new/existing chemical processes.</li>
<li>Knowledge of statistical design and evaluation methods.</li>
<li>Ability to use analytical processes (appraise a situation, develop supporting plans, make decisions, generate innovative ideas, analyze and troubleshoot operational problems)</li>
<li>Open to occasional travel about 25% of the time</li>

Schedule/Hours
This is a salaried, exempt position with typical work hours of 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., M – F.
