Partner with the Mayor and Chief of Staff in leadership of operations in the City and the administrative staff. Manage projects assigned by Mayor or Chief of Staff. Improve internal systems to serve residents better with an eye toward future budget realities. Build and maintain strong relationships with the community and various stakeholders. Collaborate with and support department heads regarding strategic decisions and plans to ensure the Mayor's policies and objectives are successfully implemented. Share in knowledge dissemination, reporting, and communications, including review and collaboration on media releases and social media communications. Represent the Mayor and the City of South Bend at meetings and events.

South Bend

Advanced Degree preferred.

Public sector experience a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, Business Management, Communications, History, Government, Social Studies, or other related field required.

Minimum three years of management, political, communications, policy, or other related experience.

The Assistant Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services serves as a key member of the Mayor’s executive leadership team, reporting to the Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services. This individual plays a critical role in advancing the City’s efforts to improve health and social outcomes across a broad portfolio that includes various health and human services offices with a specific focus on the Mayor’s Youth Focused Initiatives.
