About The Role
AbbVie Development Sciences (Dev Sci) is an integrated, cross-functional R&D organization responsible for the development of small molecule pharmaceuticals and therapeutic biologics from Discovery Candidate Selection through late-stage clinical trials. The Data & Digital Strategy core team within Development Sciences defines and executes AbbVie’s data and digital strategy in collaboration with Dev Sci experts and Information Research (IR). The team focuses on building and maintaining data and systems architecture to enable world-class knowledge management, data analytics, and predictive modeling capabilities. This role will be a key part of that initiative, where you’ll contribute to solving significant scientific and business problems by integrating, visualizing, and analyzing large datasets.
Specific Responsibilities
- Conceive, design, and implement new solutions to solve significant scientific or business problems through the integration, visualization, and analysis of large, complex data.
- Demonstrate proficiency in a broad range of technologies related to the storage, transfer, integration, visualization, and analysis of large datasets.
- Deeply understand the pharmaceutical and healthcare business, particularly in CMC Development, to rapidly advance impactful solutions.
- Resolve key project hurdles and assumptions by effectively utilizing available data and technical expertise.
- Act independently with guidance when necessary, proactively seeking new information and technologies.
- Mentor and supervise one or more individuals, guiding and evaluating their performance.
- Adhere to corporate standards, including compliance with GxP, safety, and data security.
Qualifications
- PhD with 0-4 years of experience.
- Strong background in machine learning (ML) modeling for scientific applications.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Ability to work in a global environment with teams at multiple locations.
Preferred
- A blend of strong scientific experience in the biotech/pharma industry and excellent IT skills.
- Experience with CMC Development data and workflows, including toxicology, pathology, and pharmacokinetic data, is a strong plus.
Additional Information
- This position offers remote flexibility if located within the United States. Ideally, the candidate should be on-site at AbbVie’s North Chicago, IL or Worcester, MA campus (relocation assistance is available).
- Compensation will be based on experience and location, with potential participation in short-term and long-term incentive programs.
