**Southern Oregon Sanitation** , in **Grants Pass, OR** has an immediate position open for a **Diesel Lube Tech** to perform preventative maintenance on our fleet of garbage trucks. . **Full-Time:** 4/10 Schedule, Wednesday - Saturday, 7:00am - 4:30pm (Occasional OT as needed) . **COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:** **Starting pay at $26.94/hr** + Annual Safety Bonus $$ + Generous Paid Time Off + Paid Holidays + Customizable Benefits Package: Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, Wellness Programs, and more + 401(k) with Company Match + Company-Paid Life Insurance + Growth opportunities- We pride ourselves on promoting from within. **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Help to assist with repairs including but are not limited to, routine preventative maintenance and repairing engines, chassis, body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, and wheels/tires. + Inspects equipment and/or trucks for condition, operations, parts and fluid levels, differentials, final drives, pump drives, and hubs. + Knowledge of Hydraulics repair is a plus! + Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment. + Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. + Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. + Performs required safety protocols while working on vehicles. + Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks. . **WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:** + Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. + Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to safely climb in, on and around vehicles to inspect and repair. + Ability to work in awkward, tight, or restricted spaces for extended periods of time; Requires the ability to sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and be able to get up and down from a supine position. + Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions. + The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.
