The Fire Alarm Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting the Fire Alarm Manager with the following duties:
Complete inspections, service, installation and programming of commercial fire alarm systems for clients in the field.
Maintain current client base through scheduled contact with owners and property managers.
Seek new business through follow up of leads, new contacts, and expansion of related services.
Assist with preparing proposals, submitting estimates, and negotiating contracts with new and established customers. Diligently seeking to renew existing contracts.
Monitor activity, productivity and accuracy of inspectors to maintain their client accounts.
Assist with planning/monitoring job costs and profitability of contracted inspection work to meet department goals.
Assist with site evaluations for clients and handle discrepancies, complaints, and advice on recommended remedial action or procedures as required by the Fire Alarm Manager.
Establish and maintain communications (email, phone calls, faxes, etc) with owners, their representatives, tenants, occupants, and other contractors pertaining to pricing and quotes, anticipated inconveniences, and reports on deficiencies.
Communicate as necessary with Authorities Having Jurisdiction to represent the client's interests and to resolve issues of non-compliance or discrepancy.
Work closely with clients to ensure that all circumstances involving disagreement as to scope, method of handling on site conditions, or other client dissatisfaction, is handled tactfully, and with patience and integrity.
Monitor the inspection reports for notes and recommendations regarding discrepancy or non-compliance, and follow up with to ensure that a corrective proposal and any work order are processed in a timely fashion.
Supervise the work of department Inspectors and Service Technicians to insure fulfillment of contract obligations and quality control in delivery of service.
Document to and file all training, evaluations, disciplines, and terminations with HR.
Monitor jobs to be marked complete, invoice work daily/weekly, and approve timesheets.
Address and document employee performance issues or attendance problems. Provides coaching and counseling to improve on the job performance.
Ensure that all department personnel follow all site-specific and company safety standards.
Ensure that ALL accidents and injuries are reported as they occur and follows up on injuries.
Ensure that all staff in company vehicles follow all driving regulations and truck maintenance.
Order inventory as necessary to maintain a proper quantity of materials/equipment.
Use ServiceTrade to process and send invoices to QuickBooks via ServiceTrade.
Other duties as assigned by the Fire Alarm Manager.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid driver's license required
Valid Connecticut L-6 or C-6 license required, C-5 or L-5 preferred
Previous supervisory experience preferred, but not required
Must possess strong interpersonal skills
Must be willing to work both in the field and Cheshire office
