CNC Programmer

Location: La Vergne, TN

Responsibilities:

• Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes (5-6 axis) and Haas 3-axis mill.
• Utilize Mastercam to generate programs for both lathe and mill operations.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
• Select appropriate tooling and ensure setups produce concentric, accurate parts.
• Work with live tooling, Y-axis lathes (e.g., Doosan Puma models), and handle tap/drill operations.
• Troubleshoot and optimize machining processes for quality and efficiency.
• Ensure precision fits such as press and slip fits; understand machining tolerances.
• Occasionally assist fabrication team with questions about part fitment or finishes.
• Maintain machine cleanliness, preventive maintenance, and basic diagnostics.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of CNC lathe machining experience (job shop or similar environment preferred).
• Advanced Mastercam experience – able to program from scratch.
• Experience operating Fanuc-controlled lathes, preferably with Y-axis and live tooling.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, fit tolerances, and tool selection.
• Familiarity with steel machining – DOMT or cold-finished TM45 style materials.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and applying GD&T standards.

Preferred:

• Experience with Haas 3-axis mill (TM2 model or similar).
• Background in aerospace, marine, or precision manufacturing environments.
• Prior experience with multi-axis Doosan/Daewoo Puma lathes.
• Knowledge of fabrication, welding, or mechanical assembly processes.
