About The Role
We are on the hunt for a
Business Development Manager who is obsessed and embedded in the online jobs industry. You may be coming from another marketplace-style business, a recruitment background of even a jobs software company, but the headline is, you live and breathe jobs, search and selling this to clients who want to find talent.
Gumtree Jobs isn’t like any other platform, we have over 8,000 jobs on our site and have 3.9M monthly unique visitors. Imagine the possibilities when you’re working to fit the needs of clients with our platform, the data and insights you’ll be able to provide them as you work together to connect them with talent in the market.
This role will take the lead in driving partnerships, unlocking new business, and reconnecting with old friends. It’s also accountable for driving success within the Jobs category overall, working with the product and tech teams to ensure the category is firing.
What You’ll Do
- Actively canvas new and existing businesses and develop initiatives that grow revenue and partnerships within the Gumtree Jobs category
- Identify sales opportunities, prioritise them, and develop initiatives to maximise the market penetration of our offerings
- Explore partnership opportunities to grow the vibrancy of the platform
- Develop and implement a 12-month Jobs sales strategy that ultimately promotes the growth of the category
- Provide opportunities for knowledge sharing, assistance, specialisation, and maintain an open and collaborative team environment
- Represent Gumtree in the market as a thought leader of all things Jobs platform. From your expert-level understanding of job boards, applicant tracking systems, or other recruitment software, you will be a subject matter expert in what clients need and require, no matter the industry, because you live and breathe talent attraction and connection
- Be on the front foot, by leveraging your firm grasp of job market conditions for both customers and competition to make recommendations for product and technical developments to enhance our offering and customer experience
- Develop and be a great partner with key clients, both directly and in conjunction with the sales team
- Contribute to the design of the product offering (packages and pricing) to maximise revenue
What you’ll bring:
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience in working within a similar industry and role, business development experience within SaaS, Jobs and Talent market is crucial - you need to be confident in how it works and where we unlock value for clients
- You’re a true salesperson and love the idea of finding and acquiring new business
- Experience in working with sales tools like Salesforce or other CRM-related tools
- Analytical skills and an understanding of online performance metrics, data and how to leverage insights for customers or to inform best decisions for the category
- Excellent in-person, phone-based communication skills and confidence in presenting, from pulling a branded pack together, to launching this to a customer, delivering a presentation and public speaking. You’re in your element when you’re in front of clients
- You’re beyond proactive! You take initiative to follow through on commitments to achieve results
- You have been a part of or built strategic plans before, for the Jobs market would be highly beneficial
- Leadership experience is highly beneficial
- Tertiary qualifications in business or marketing are desired
